I would like to sign up my daughter for the novice school...She is 15 and has done 4 previous autocrosses.
Her name is Tori Ratte' and she will be driving a 99 Mazda Miata 10AE.
I haven't seen a pre-registration link yet, but want to be sure we get her signed up before the class fills.
Thanks

This looks like a hell of a lot of fun but I've never even been to a solo event before, so I'm a total novice as far as that goes. Are you guys pretty friendly to the new guys and would this be the best way to get my feet wet so to speak? I have a 370Z begging to be driven but I don't even know what class I would be in. I don't want to get in over my head right away. For the school, I have the one car but two drivers interested (both novices), so would that work out or be a PITA? If so, is that $70 or $140 for a non SCCA member, and what happens if you don't get the 15 min. participants? I also have a friend interested with a Boxster with all the same questions. Maybe I could talk him into coming out too.

Are you guys pretty friendly to the new guys and would this be the best way to get my feet wet so to speak? Be prepared for some of the most fun you'll have on four wheels. You will find the Dixie crew most friendly and helpful. We love sharing our passion. This is your chance to learn from some of the best and experienced in our club, one on one, in your car, on course. Our goal is to provide maximum seat time in a challenging but safe and comfortable environment. I have a 370Z begging to be driven but I don't even know what class I would be in. If your car is stock then you'd be in C Stock. If it's a Nismo 370Z then B Stock. If your car is modified then we'll take a look at what you've done and figure out what class you will be running. I don't want to get in over my head right away. For the school, I have the one car but two drivers interested (both novices), so would that work out or be a PITA? No problem for two drivers in one car. There should be ample opportunity for the both of you to get plenty of seat time and instruction. If so, is that $70 or $140 for a non SCCA member, and what happens if you don't get the 15 min. participants? Correct, $70 per non-member driver entrant. Two non-member drivers = $140. The fee includes entry to Sunday's Solo autocross. I believe we will have at least 15 drivers but if we don't then you'll get your money back for the school. You can still enter the Sunday Solo for the normal fee. We hold Novice course walk throughs before the drivers meeting on Sunday. I also have a friend interested with a Boxster with all the same questions. Maybe I could talk him into coming out too. Bring them, too, they will love it.

Rob,
Need any more instructors?
I may be doing a 60 mile kayak paddle from Lake Talquin to the Gulf on Saturday.
It was good seeing the old Dixie gang in March on my way home from the WaterTribe Everglades Challenge.

Hey Brad, it was a great surprise to see you after all these years. I think we are good on instructors but you are welcome to help out anytime. All the best, Rob.

I already registered through the online link for the drivers school on the 19th. It says that includes entry into the following event on the 20th. Do I need to also do the online registration for the 20th or is it all done already because of the school registration? Also, the registration list shows 11 people signed up for the school so far. Will you still have the school if we're that close to the 15 minimum you wanted?

As of today we are now up to 12 entries, plenty to hold the novice school. So the novice school is a go. Regarding the free event entry and registration to school participants on Sunday, June 20th: - You must register and pay online in advance to participate in the Novice School on Saturday June 19th. - School entrants gain free entry to the Solo event on Sunday June 20th. - Sunday June 20th Solo event online registration is encouraged but not required. By registering online in advance you help speed up the registration process the morning of the event. In other words, more seat time and runs. So we encourage everyone to pre-register for Solo events online. Solo event registration can be found on the Event Schedule page of the Dixie website at dixiescca.com/event-schedule.html . Look forward to seeing everyone there.
