Hey! Do y'all remember Hal Glenn? We also called him "Minda" after an Aussie term for "Retard" that Zoie taught us. (Remember Zoie?) Anyway, I got a message from him on the LocostUSA forum. He'd found my build log, recognized Lucretia in my avatar picture, and then read the whole thing. He said that after reading about Jamey Bell and me building, messing up, fixing, sitting on cardboard drawings, etc, he was kinda misty-eyed, missing Dixie Region and the fun we always had.
Other'n that, sounds like he's doing well, still up Nawth building fuel injection systems and other fancy electronic stuff. I asked him for an email address, haven't gotten a response yet. I'll keep ya posted!

I ran into Hal last year at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show in Orlando. We need to remind Hal that Allies vs. Axis is just around the corner.

Hey Sandy! Found the build log, did ya??? What do ya think? Deranged ponderings of a madman? Automotive genius? Come up and see it some time, we're working at Jamey's old familiar shop building there on the road to Cairo. Take Care- JDK

Very cool build JD. Can't wait to see it run.
Is that lowcost forum for real? I worried through the sign up. Rules for name, rules for password, then made my first post and it pops up saying a moderator had to approve it before it would post. COMMUNIST I tell ya!

We prefer the term "Eclectic". Comrade... They got invaded by spammers some time ago and got all picky about stuff. That was before I registered, so I went thru the same bizness you did. The mods only look at your first few posts to make sure you're not trying to sell us hair straighteners or penis hardeners. (might be the same product?) ;D JDK

Oh, and Sandy, thanks for saying it's cool... I can't wait to see it run myself. I'll probably be in it for that maiden voyage, so I very much hope that it doesn't break in half and that nothing falls off or catches fire. (I set the bar pretty high there, didn't I?) If any other members of the gang here are reading this, take a look at my build log at locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=8526I'd love for folks to visit, see what I been up to... Hey Chris- There's a whole fleet of MGB's and TR's running around with big ol' Murican V8's stuffed in 'em. Try www.BritishV8.org for some more. I considered doing something like that, but the monocoque was too rusted and there was too much damage to the center tunnel after that last little "incident" at Crow Mountain when I tried to fling the driveshaft out of the car (while exiting Turn 4 at speed, no less). I'd have needed to build a new (probably tube) frame to go under the shell of the MG, and if I was gonna do all that, well, why not just start over without the constraints of the MGB bodyshell dimensions and the labor of taking apart the mechanicals of the MG at all... Try Googling "Mallock Mk 15" for a look at the inspiration for the new car. See ya Sunday! JDK
