I thought I'd start one of these up to boost activity on the forum and keep us up to date on what we're doing in our own lives with each other.
I open with: MY TIRES ARE OUT FOR DELIVERY!!!
Bryan, I'll be coming to see you soon.
Does anyone know where I can pick up an Axis Battle Flag on the cheap-ish side for AvA? It wouldn't do to be a Novice Dude at our big event with no bling! I'm already set on decals for the body.

Yo, Wilson- What kinda tires are you getting? If the new Bimmer leans like the old one did, they're gonna need tread about halfway down the sidewalls... ;D
Maybe one of the roadside vendors that set up shop along Apalachee would have a German flag? Probably a modern one, not WWII vintage, but better'n nuthin.
I used to have a German flag... My Dad picked it up in Belgium in 1944. He had a great story about a German Field Marshall that quoted the Geneva Convention and told my Dad that he didn't have to surrender to a mere lieutenant, only to an officer of equal rank... Remind me to relate the rest of it in person when I see ya!

JD: Hankook 225/45-15's. They're 140's, minimum required for STX. They're gonna be sooo much fun!

Wilson, I look forward to seeing your AvsA decals. Care to share any details? Heh. Nothing special. Just a pair of Iron Crosses on the doors. It'll look good on the black. I wonder if I should make my car a FW190 or a BF109? I've decided that if I ever go turbo it's becoming an ME262 ;D

uhhhh.... Wouldn't that be an "ME-109"? Messerschmidt... The FW-190 was a Focke Wulf (sp?). ME-262, first operational jet aircraft, also a Messerschmidt, another great plane.
There was also a WWII German aircraft manufacturer named "Junker", pronounced "Yoon' ker". But if ya say it like it's spelled in English, well, the jokes just happen...

Oooopsie, my mistake! Just looked up ME-109 and found that the German Luftwaffe officially called it the BF-109, as you said... Cool, learned something!

Changed the oil in the Stang last Sunday. I thought the last oil change was in 2007 but I found I did it last June when I went to enter into the log.
Ordered some new vinyl to do the AvA costume remake. Think pipes and a proper insignia for the era.

Yo Wilson! If I'd had your phone number I'd have called you last night. "The Military Channel" has a show called "Wings of the Luftwaffe", about WWII German aircraft (obviously). The plane they featured was the Junkers JU-88! Helluva aircraft, the Germans did just about everything with it; high-altitude recon; light, medium and heavy bombing, attack missions, torpedo bomber, you name it. Amazing service record. However, in spite of it being an incredibly good airframe used with a variety of engines and capable of filling a multitude of roles in the war, it was one butt-ugly aircraft... Attachments:

JD wassup with the 2011 Ford Moose-Wang registration? You didn't go buy a new 5 point ohh did ya? Yo, Sandy! Nope, didn't buy one, unfortunately... I am planning to rent one though! It might turn out to be a Focus by the time I get there, but Plan A is for a V8 Moose-Wang from Hertz, to be co-driven by a famous short person who usually drives a Nissan. Stay tuned... JDK
