Who's going to the 24?
I've been wanting to go back for a long time so I might break down and do it this year.
Back in the mid seventies some of the gang from Tally used to work as pit stewards there during the 24. IMSA paid us $20 a shift and gave us pit and paddock parking passes. We would work two 4 hour shifts during the race and the rest of the time we had free rein to wonder around and take pics. The money we made would easily pay for transportation and food. I have very fond memories and some Kodak 110 photos of the 24 hours of Daytona.

I was thinking about going, Sandy, but it is on our event date, so if I can muster up a co-drive with someone then I'll have a decision to make. When I was living down there, I was doing flagging at many of the SCCA Daytona events as well as Grand Am test days. These days they're providing $25 gas cards per day and lunch for your services, but for the 24 they treat you to a bit more. Bob Storke (rstorke@cfl.rr.com) would be the guy you need to talk for the ones who'd like a free pass to the 24. It's hella fun!

Actually, contact Rich Kasson (richscca@embarqmail.com), phone: 727-422-5678. You can also go to the cfrscca.org website for info.

I was just going to buy the $85 ticket with the garage pass if I go but thanks for the info. I'm gonna watch the weather and make a last minute decision.
I don't want to miss the first event either but they seem to have it on the same weekend as the 24 every year.
