Yo- Like Sandy, I haven't read the Street Prepared rules in a while. Your safest bet is to check 'em via the link he gave you or go to SCCA.com and look up the Solo2 rules there.
However, when I was autocrossing in DSP and then later in FSP a few years back, the rules said something to the effect of "a full and complete interior." There was even language about using "full sized, upholstered" seats in front. Racing seats were allowed.
Your mileage might vary, check the rule book to be certain!

I saw it on TV so I'm pretty sure I can do it.

only if you're updating/backdating or converting to a package that didn't come with a back seat. The funniest clarification of seat rules came when it was specified that the passenger seat had to be able to actually be used by an adult since several c/sp cars showed up at Nationals with baby seats bolted to the floorboard.

you can also use your "improved Touring" class setup rules and run in street prepared but you can't pick and chose which rules. The car must be able to compete in an IT race. i.e. roll cage and safety eq. Those rules alow the removal of the back seat.

Im debating whether to run DSP or SMF this time around. If i run DSP ill throw the seats back in, takes all of 10 secs to do.
