Looking forward to seeing everyone at the award banquet before we start the 2012 season in earnest. This is an open event, so if you've been racing with us or are thinking of joining the club - feel free to RSVP. Dixie will be providing chicken, pork and sliced beef along with rolls and non-alcoholic drinks. The always delicious salads, sides and desserts from the guests round out the meal.
Hope to see everyone there while we enjoy some food and recognize this year's performances. There's an outside chance of one or two "special" awards also.

The second annual Dixie "Stig" competition saw some new faces this year as members put down times during the awards party in an attempt to wear the regions PlayStation Gran Turismo crown. If anyone ever wondered how Fred Flintstone felt going around a corner on granite tires, you only had to drive the Miata with street tires used to go around the Autumn Ring track. It was clear right away that Andre Jamison wanted back the 0.189 seconds that put him just out of the lead last year and his first time in the 1:12s put everyone on notice. Chris "Cheerio" Casey then posted a mid 12s time showing off the skills he's been demonstrating lately is his regular ride - a miata. As the evening was coming to a close Andre posted a low 12 that looked like it might hold. Russ Clark wasn't ready to give up his title just yet and calmly busted out a last lap in the 11s as time ran out and clean up commenced.
It was good fun for all, and just like autocross, if we just had a few more runs the times would keep falling. The final results (or at least the post its I could find) were:
