Meeting Updates
July Membership Meeting has been rescheduled from Wednesday July 4, 2012 to Wednesday June 27, 2012.
Course Design School - Saturday July 7, 2012, 10am – 3pm. Spence Field in Moultrie, GA. Learn the basic concepts and fundamentals of Solo course design from the Dixie masters. A hands on class where you will design and test drive an actual Solo course. No experience necessary. The school is free and includes lunch. RSVP to Arty G. via email: me@artyg.com .
Test and Tune - Saturday August 18, 2012, on the concrete at Spence Field. Then stay overnight for the August Solo event on Sunday. Great opportunity to prep for the National Championship in Lincoln, NE. Details to follow.
Solo Turkey Shootout - Sunday November 4, 2012 at Spence Field. Following the very popular Evolution Performance Driving School’s Super Shootout format, the Dixie Turkey Shootout Solo features an event where all class winners and the top half of the Shootout qualifiers are determined by your first 4 runs. The top half qualifiers are determined from the overall PAX results, and are locked into the shootout. Once the top half of the field is locked in, the remaining competitors get a second chance at the Turkey Shootout in the Last Chance Turkey Qualifier (LCTQ). The LCTQ is 2 additional runs that the remaining competitors will try and get into the Turkey Shootout by finishing in the top 8 in PAX in the LCTQ. Then the remaining Solo Turkey Shootout positions will be from a random drawing. With the Solo Turkey Shootout field complete, the competitors are separated into a 2 bracket system. The top 2 qualifiers take the number one seed in each bracket. The first round of each bracket will be 2 runs with no adjustments allow to the car. The Shootout will run on a PAX system where each pairing will run heads up with the winner advancing to the next round. The winners of each bracket will be running for the top Shootout spot worth cash and prizes.
