Dear friends of Dixie, I just talked to the Mom of the Junior Kart driver who had an accident today and they are in a Hotel, out of the hospital. All the CT-scans, X-rays, and MRI's checked out okay with the exception of a benign fracture at the second vertebrae. Of course she is sore and bruised but she will only need a routine follow up at a local doctor tomorrow morning. The family would like me to send a message to everybody who witnessed and partook in the miracle, that the little girl is okay and her parents are extremely grateful for all the help, concerns and well-wishes. Auto-crossers are an awesome community… Marko

Hi Everyone, We wanted to update everyone on Paige's status. First and most significant the neurosurgeon we met with this morning told us that he DID NOT see a fracture in her vertebrae! We are home and she is playing as usual with only a few minor cuts and scrapes. We can not express enough thanks to everyone who helped us yesterday and kept Paige in their thoughts/prayers. Marco, Brian, Jamie, Mike, Ashley and Family for driving me to the ER and taking care of our son, Timmie, and to the photographer/EMT who we are so thankful that you were there, Natasha the Angel, and everyone else, forgive me for not naming you each, I will never forget how incredible you were and what you have done for us from running for tools, water, coming to the ER, honestly everything. As I review the accident in my head and question the how this happened's, I see your faces and know how much heart and soul you put into taking care of our little girl.
With the relief of having a safe child at home and going back to school tomorrow, I want to share a few thoughts as FJC is a trial program. I know that this incident will be reviewed many times and lots of questions asked. The program is a GOOD program and I want to be the first to ask that it be kept. We had an incident, yes, but we have already seen changes being brought up like a remote to stop the engine. I thought it was a great idea know that others with more kart experience will be able to contribute and make the program a success. I believe this is fun for the children and is something that should be for the whole family as it definitely is for ours.
Thanks again and hope to see you all soon, Sherri

I am one of the grandpa's of Paige. I would like to pass on my thanks & praise to all the fine folks of the Dixie group for their expressed thoughts, caring and extremely good job of taking care of our family this past Sunday. I do not know all of whom were involved in the rescue of her, but I do know some of the main crew involved and would like to say a special thanks to Marko, Bryan, David & Timmie for hanging with the family & all you did. God bless you all and you will always be remembered with honors from our household. Your the kind of family everyone should have on their side. Thanks Roger & Ginny Casey

I would like to add that we don't need any praise for our actions. We have done only what every single one of our Solo friends would have done given the situation. Those were very, very small tokens to assist Doug and Sherri, considering thet they had a trip to Hell and back in a matter of a couple of hours. I am truly humbled by the composure and character Doug and Sherri displayed and I am honored to call you our friends... Marko
P.S.: The name of the EMT is Rickey Adams and we are in contact with him.

We are so thankful that Paige is ok! She is a very lucky little girl! We were praying the moment we knew she was going to crash until we got the call today saying she was discharged from the hospital. Sherri, you are a wonderful mom and although we didn't get to meet Paige you have raised a wonderful polite son, who was also very courageous during this whole experience. Hope to see you all racing again!
Ashley and Luke
