Interesting article claiming the Snell helmets much harder than a DOT helmet and this can cause more brain trauma on impact.
Talking about helmets, what's the deal on some helmets expiring at the end of 2009?
Aren't the requirements different for Solo vs. Time Trials/Club Racing?

New snell ratings come out every 5 years. When the 2010 rated helmets are available they will knock out helmets 15 years old I think.

So starting in January 2010, an eligible Solo helmet will include Snell Standards of SA2010, SA2005 and SA2000 or M2010, M2005, and M2000 or for karts a K2010, K2005, and K2000.
Anything with a 1995 Snell Standard (SA95, M95 or K95) or older can no longer be used in Solo.
I think I've got it.
