There have been discussions at club meetings of holding several Rallycross events in 2010. We are finalizing dates and locations and should have more details to share by the first of the year or sooner.

2010 Dixie Rallycross Update: The SEDiv chair approved the Dixie Rallycross site to be held at Steeda Autosports 25 acre manufacturing facility at 2019 Steeda Way Valdosta, GA 31601. The course will be bush hogged on what eventually will become the paved 1.2 mile Steeda Autosports test track. Steeda says paving the track is probably a few years away. Steeda Autosport is a manufacturer and retailer of aftermarket performance Ford and Mustang equipment. www.steeda.com . Tenative Rallycross date is scheduled for February 28, 2010.

So begins my next bad habit I can't afford. At least you already have a rallycross vehicle. I've got to secure the appropriate junker first. Maybe I'll "borrow" my son's Volvo 740 wagon when he's away at school.

Yeah.....what he ^ said !!! We're looking forward to coming down for the inaugural event. And the great thing about rallycross is that you don't need to expend the $$$$ to be competitive and have a blast. You can pick up a "beater" and if it needs rubber, put on some $50 winterforce snow tires. And even better, several folks go in together and purchase the "beater"..........for regional events you are not bound to two-driver cars. Just something to consider. This is the first date on my 2010 race calendar and I'm already jones'n for some dirt action. This is a clip from the AL Region (Steele Dragstrip) site... www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZdQlfCLme8
