Any talk yet of if/when the next RallyX will be held? Also, has anyone mentioned or considered running a class of dirt track cars (4cyl) like some of the other Regions have done? Full cages, race seats, harnesses, fire bottles, welded doors, window nets, no burnable interior bits, but usually with no windows and straight pipes. I think they listed them as FR class, based on their dirt track class being known as the 'Front Runner' class. Cars were required to meet the preparation rules from whatever track they ran at, plus the minimum SCCA tech/safety rules. Just wondering, I almost let the boys talk me into loading up one we had for the last event, but decided against it since we had seen no mention of allowing them.

I always thought it would be a good 'crossover' class to get some interest from the local dirt track folks. Especially during their off-months of Oct-Mar.
But I never saw it actually happen that way. Mostly it was just folks that were already involved in both, or SCCA'ers who went out and purchased a cheap dirt car just to run RallyX with.
Never recall ever seeing a dedicated dirt track driver coming over so that they can finally do some right turns. But maybe because it wasn't advertised enough at the local dirt tracks where those guys hang out. (Or maybe the whole membership thing spooked them).

P.S.
there are ususally plenty of decent, stock-class 4cyl dirt track cars that can be purchased for between $300-$600.
Sounds like the IDEAL RallyX car price range to me, and no worries about a little dirt or scratches or wearing out your daily driver.
(and with full cages, harnesses and window nets, the (rare) occasional roll-overs will cause you no concern at all)
