Dixie Annual Awards Banquet - January 15, 2011

It's that time again for the Annual Dixie Region Awards Banquet.

Date: Saturday, January 15, 2011

Time: 6:30 pm - Midnight

Location:
Sittig Hall at the Kleman Plaza
Florida League of Cities building
301 S. Bronough Street
Tallahassee, Florida 32301
(Facing the Challenge Learning Center/IMAX Theater and next door to Harry's Seafood Bar and Grill.)

What:
Dinner and awards for the 2010 Dixie Region Solo Championship Series class winners, member of the year, driver of the year, worker of the year, cone king, of course special gag awards, and plenty of bench racing too.

Parking:
at the Kleman Plaza Parking garage.
306 South Duval Street
Tallahassee, FL 32301
Take the elevator up to the Plaza level (P). Sittig Hall is located in the building right behind the elevator.

Directions:
Heading North or South on Monroe Street, turn west onto W. Pensacola Street.
Turn right on to South Duval Street (this is a one-way street).
You will see the public parking garage on your left at the next light. You will want to park there. The parking toll for the garage is $1. (Make sure you have dollar bills.)
From the garage, take the elevator/stairs to the top (this is Kleman Plaza - Level P for Plaza). Behind the elevators/stairs, you will see Harry's Seafood Bar and Grill. Sittig Hall is located to the right of Harry's on the first floor of the Florida League of Cities building, which is between Harry's and the One 0 One (101) lounge.

Hey everybody...Brian and I had really wanted to come to the dinner this year, but he has been sent away to the Sand Box again.

He left for Afghanistan the 3rd of Jan and won't be back for about 3 months. Maybe next year. Seems like we have said that before.

Tori and will still most likely be at the events while he is gone. I for one am excited about the street tire pax. Yay.

So anyway, we will see you all on the 30th.

Thanks to all who attended the awards banquet. Although I received many thanks for the party, the real thanks goes to all those who work so hard to provide a place for us to race. It's nice to see all who organize and set up for all the events throughout the year recognized.

It was some close competition on the Playstation Test Track with Russ Clark edging out Andre Jamison by only 0.189 seconds for the win. There were several good runs which were thwarted by cones and white lines ending in a DNF. It appeared the corners Hammerhead and Gambon had to be executed well to be in the running, and it was easy to be off course on both of them. The final results were:

Ya know, it occurs to me that y'all gave Gayle that "Anti Monkey-Butt Powder" and mentioned it was "Guilt by association" for hanging out with me. Now, one of the things the powder is good for is "reducing irritation"... Was that some kind of editorial comment? ;D

Hell, even if it was, it's better than more "fish jokes"!!!
