There should be masking tape available to form letters and numbers, but it wouldn't hurt to bring your own roll if you're picky about the sticky.

Yep, what he said... You might want to go by sLowe's or Home Beepo and get some masking tape that's a color which contrasts to your car. You can lightly stick it on your jeans once and peel it off before putting it on your car, helps keep down the amount of adhesive that stays on the metal. It's permissable -rule wise- to put the numbers on the windows, but they're easier for the scoring folks and corner workers to pick up if they're on the door. And don't be shy, put 'em on there big enough for us old people to read 'em from a distance!!!

Shoe polish works on windows well. Wal-Mart and others sell a product called window chalk in the automotive section also.

For your first event most people just use blue or green painters tape. I usually bring a roll in case someone needs it. Some people even go so far as to print out their numbers and class on 8.5x11 paper and use the painters tape to affix it to the door.

OK, what about numbers/class labels? Tape? Don't worry about it? Painter's tape (the blue stuff) holds fairly well, even on most waxes, and comes off fine.

IMHO shoe polish is better, but if you get painters tape make sure you get it wide enough. The thin strips blow right off. make sure to mark both sides of the car.

We're glad to hear you had a good time and will be back. We expect you to install some restraints for that anxious clutch leg though Thanks for the help with the Miata. It turned out to be a bad clutch slave. It was replaced and shifting again in 2 hours.
