What a blast! Great to see a few teams of Dixie members. I have nothing to say about the team names, but it was entertaining... Odd to see a Tesla there, and to see it run.

The Tesla was amazing. That thing had some get-up-and-GO!

I think the best part of the day for me was flogging the Snoog around the track for a few laps. Made up for coming in last in my heat of the kart race.

I know the feeling, it took me a bit to get a feel for those karts. During the parade laps I ran 3 of 4 laps on the infield but they didn't worry about it because the CRX was light enough... left a little rubber out there too. But not as much as Marko! The Model T truck had a flat after leaving the track, so I gave the owner a ride home and he gave me a six pack and ice. His family owns the KOA on I-10. Worked out to a beer per mile. Anyone need a ride?

left a little rubber out there too. But not as much as Marko! Well sorry, I could not resist, the kids had so much fun. Leif was laughing so hard he pied on himself. That's what I call success... ;D Sorry if I got the track a little dirty by cutting the apex at some turns...

Marko, I am glad that I was not in the car with you. Looked like a blast. I told Russ, "Right about now Marko is asking, 'is that poop I smell?' " Wondering how bad you scared the kids! They were grinning until you left. Sorry couldn't make it Saturday, starter in truck out and alternator bad in CRX with a possible other problem. Had to park it until monday or so.

[brag] Well, the most fun for me was winning the heat race followed by finishing 3rd in the final. [/brag] It wasn't easy to talk myself into going after a 9 month recovery from last years event. Sure glad I went though! I think I could have done better in the final if it weren't for some of the shenanigans the other team pulled. During kart selection I saw a couple of them pull 3 or more kart names out and return the ones they didn't want. After that they were instructed to line up on the inside lane and for us to line up on the outside. They lined up with one of their guys in the front in both lanes so they could block. After a couple of laps of blocking I realized the kart I ended up with was lacking straightaway speed and I had to resort to pulling the governor rod down the straights. In the end third place wasn't a bad finish and the two ahead of me were only a half to 2/3 straightaway ahead. Kudos to Brian for getting fastest lap in both the heat race and final. Flogging the Mustang wasn't much fun on staggered street tires. Although I've run a few sessions at Sebring with the same tires I couldn't find a line and get it to do what I wanted in the short time I had on the tight track.
